Celebrations in Bergen, 17th May 2017
The sun shone in Bergen for Norway's Constitution Day. The Constitution, signed in Eidsvoll on 17 May 1814, declared Norway to be an independent kingdom in an attempt to avoid being ceded to Sweden after Denmark–Norway's devastating defeat in the Napoleonic Wars. The day focused originally on the Norwegian constitution, but after 1905, the focus has been directed also towards the royal family and children. Colloquially this day is also known as the «Childern's Day»
Here are photos from the celebrations in Bergen; Carnival, Action, Music and a Great Atmosfere.
More photos from Manger Musikklag's fantastic concert can be seen here.
